Back to the amber waves of grain and purple mountains majesty. Had a lovely time in London, surrounded by black cabs, Big Ben, bangers (with mash and without), and a bevy of international darts players at the breakfast buffet every morning. And for one day, the Arsenal Football Club. It was an absolutely magical trip.
Alas, the second we landed back in the States at JFK I began to feel a sore throat coming on, which then escalated into a full-blown, round-the-clock, maximum-dosage-required cold which has basically knocked me out all week. Silver lining, of course: better than getting it the previous week. It’s delayed my return to posting but I’m mostly recovered and I’ll be back (in black…in the saddle…in the USSR) on Wednesday.
Here’s a deep cut from 10cc in the meantime:

Welcome back! Glad to hear that you had a good time. Hope the cold clears quickly!
Thanks! 95% recovered now. Hope you had a great holiday season!
Welcome back! Glad the trip was memorably magical. Wishing you a speedy recovery.
Thank you! We should all go back to London sometime. Hope you had a wonderful Christmas, too!
We had a marvelous Christmas! A group trip to London? Now that sparks a magical marvelous vision. I have to keep that idea on my mental “vision board”!
Hello! We managed to both catch horrific colds in Orlando. We’re still coughing like something escaped from Sea World. Fun song! Get well soon, Houston.
Hi! I’m sorry to hear you fell ill during your vacation. Mine at least waited until I returned. Hope you had a lovely time despite it all. Get well yourself!
We had a brilliant time, and had my fill of all my favourite food before it was time to leave. Both Peder and I are still under the weather with this virus – it’s a nasty one.
