Roundin’ Up The Raves: Royal Republic, Aubrie Sellers, Harriet, The Knocks

Losing momentum. Too much friction.  Inertia beginning to punish my synapses.

Must. Save. The music.

Let’s round ’em up.

FolderRoyal Republic – Weekend Man

If Electric Six and Franz Ferdinand met in a bar, had a few drinks, and then decided to rock the plaster from your rafters …

FrontAubrie Sellers – New City Blues

Lee Ann Womack’s daughter makes a name for herself with this strong and atmospheric debut, blending country and rock into a musical margarita guaranteed not to leave you hung over.

Harriet – American Appetite

Sometimes a band falls in between descriptions.  Neither fish nor fowl.  I’m going to say Harriet sound a bit like OK Go without as much power-pop.  Unusual but catchy hooks and well-turned lyrics make for a delicious and nutritious experience. Mangia!

FrontThe Knocks – 55

Shake.  Your.  Rump.
