Roundin’ Up The Raves: Anderson.Paak, PUP, Molly Tuttle, The Mountain Goats

A little late, but The Raves continue to roll. Can’t let any of these albums escape into the wilderness.

Let’s round ’em up.

Anderson.Paak – Ventura

Seeing as I dig the retro soul with a modern twist, it should come as no surprise that I think this is Anderson.Paak’s best album yet.

Also, I used to live 45 minutes from Ventura. Goin’ back to Cali…

PUP – Morbid Stuff

Part punk, all rock. And not entirely morbid.

Well…

Molly Tuttle – When You’re Ready

Ostensibly a bluegrass artist, Tuttle delivers a folk-pop gem. Plays a mean guitar, too.

The Mountain Goats – In League With Dragons

A little like Death Cab For Cutie if they were a 70’s soft rock band.

But with dragons.

(Except for the music of “Sicilian Crest,” which sounds like an early 80’s TV theme.)
