With family in town, I have precious little time to write this week. But here’s a song without a lot of story to it anyway.
Supergrass released their fourth single, “Alright,” in 1995, at the peak of the Britpop wave over in the UK. The song’s youthful exuberance and pounding piano set it apart from anything else on the charts at the time and it remains one of their biggest hits. With grunge still dominant, “Alright” was like a sunshine bomb exploding out of your speakers.
So stand back at a safe distance. Put on some SPF 50. And detonate.
