Roundin’ Up The Raves: Ruby Boots, Car Seat Headrest, Walter Martin, Milk & Bone

More songs for your weekend. I know, I know!  You’re super busy. But the music must come first. Family, friends, your job, eating … those are all great – but let’s keep our priorities straight.

Can’t let them get away. Let’s round ’em up.

Ruby Boots – Don’t Talk About It

A little bit of torch, a little bit of twang. A little bit of strut, a little bit of “Daaang!”

Car Seat Headrest – Twin Fantasy

Best experienced as a whole album, a strange, meandering, musical journey that doesn’t rely on big, memorable choruses, but rather the small pleasures of a sudden lyrical twist or unexpected arrangement.

It should also come with an avalanche warning – because it rocks!

Walter Martin – Reminisce Bar & Grill

Charming as always, Martin seems the kind of guy you’d like to sit around a campfire with while being regaled with stories and songs and goofy good cheer.

Milk & Bone – Deception Bay

Trip hop, electro-pop, indie rock. Milk & Bone offer a little something for everyone.

  1. I’m now a huge Ruby Boots fan. And I have to say that the “Australia tour” song by Walter Martin is one of the best songs I’ve heard in a long time…

    • Ruby Boots is new to me, as well. Happy to have found her – and happy for you, too. Walter Martin is a long-time favorite and his earlier albums are worth searching out. I love the call and response vocals on the “Australian Tour” song. A great song.
